Freezing Layered Casseroles

I really like to double the recipe when I’m making casseroles. Or sometimes I make a single recipe of a casserole that makes a 9×13 and place it in 2 8×8 pans. Then we have one for that night and another one for a later date. When it’s something like Chicken Spaghetti, […]

Halloween Treat

This week my oldest daughter decided that she wanted to give her teachers a treat for Halloween.  She did at least give me a couple of days notice- that’s better than last year.  Anyways, I found these cute Peppermint Pattie spiders at www.splitcoaststampers.com.  They are super easy to make and I think really cute!

Saving Money

I just came back from the grocery store and I’m excited!!  At least I was until I walked in the house and saw that the dog had gotten into the trash!!  but that’s another story.
I’m really trying to match coupons with sale prices at the stores.  So I was very excited to see so many […]

Baked Chicken

When a recipe calls for cut up, cooked chicken, I don’t boil mine in water.   Instead I bake the chicken in Italian dressing and it turns out really yummy.
I normally buy the frozen chicken breasts in the bag, so I take out how many I need and put them in a glass baking dish.  […]

Nacho Supreme

When my husband was in college, his roommate’s specialty was making Nacho Supreme.  This has become a staple in our house as well.
1 can of fat free re-fried beans
2 lbs of lean ground beef
1 package of taco seasoning
2 cups shredded cheese
sliced jalapenos as desired
Brown ground beef.  Drain off any fat.  Spread re-fried beans in the bottom […]

File system

Some days I feel like my life is a giant pile of papers! I can’t believe how much paper comes into my house. So a couple of weeks ago, Teal and I took, what I like to call, a paper management class. And so far, it has helped eliminate the stacks and […]

Halloween Party Invitation

Last year my kids had a costume party before Halloween. I copied an invitation that my friend Jami received. I choose 3 1/2 by 5 inch postcards in a neon green. On each side I cute small triangles to hold my spider web which was white string. The spider was made […]

Easiest Ever Baked Meatballs

My husband loves these Meatballs.  He eats them right off the cookie sheet.  These freeze really well, so I normally make a double batch and hide half of them before he gets home!
2 lbs lean ground beef
1 large egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs- plain or Italian
2 Tbsp instant minced onion
2 Tbsp dried parsley
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 […]

Fabric Covered Bulletin Boards

I made this fabric covered bulletin board for my daughter when we redecorated her room a few months ago. It was super easy and really fun to make. I cut a piece of foam board to the size I wanted. Added some quilt backing to the front. And covered the front […]
