Organizing Gift Wrapping Supplies

The other day I needed to wrap a birthday party present and my lack of organization was driving me mad!  I had the curly ribbon in a box in the closet.  The regular ribbon in a box in my armoire.  And the tissue paper was in yet another box under my bed!  Nothing was together where I needed it.  So right then and there I dumped everything out of the boxes, rolled up the curly ribbon, folded the tissue paper nicely, and threw away anything that was crushed or torn.

I then found a plastic tote with three drawers that I wasn’t using.  I put the tissue paper in the top drawer.  The bows in the middle drawer.  And the ribbons in the bottom one.  I stuck the whole thing in a corner of my closet- out of the way, yet still accessible.

I’m still not completely organized yet, my gift bags are in a large flat tote under a bench in my bedroom.  But at least it’s all in the same room!  Also when my three year old gets a little older, I’m going to put a pair of scissors and a roll of tape in one of the drawers.  But right now, that’s not a very safe idea!
