Saving Money

Today was grocery sale ads day!  I made it to Tom Thumb, CVS, and Kroger this morning.  I still need to go to Albertsons, Wal-mart, and Walgreen’s.  Boy I’m tired just thinking about it!

I did pretty good at Tom Thumb- saved $23.95.  It would have been $25.95, but they wouldn’t take two of my coupons that I printed off the Internet.  The checker scrutinized  the coupons like they were counterfeit money!  Then she called the manager and they had a little conference.  I asked if Tom Thumb wasn’t accepting Internet coupons?  And the manager said that some stores have stop taking them and their store takes some, but not others.  I didn’t get a definite answer either way.  So I left a little frustrated.

Anyways, I hit CVS next and I’m proud of myself there.  I only bought four deoderants, but I had four coupons and $6 Extra Bucks so I only paid $2.46.  I also earned $8 towards next time.  In the past I would have paid over $2 just for one deoderant and today I got FOUR!!  I really feel good about this transaction because I gave two of them to our church to donate to a shelter for hurricane Ike.  Yeah me!!

On to Kroger- I had $25.89 in savings there.  And I was able to stock up on some special treats for my kiddos.  Hopefully they won’t eat them all this week-
