Need A Vacation?
We had a wonderful time fishing, building sandcastles and jumping waves at the beach. Morgan caught her first fish and I didn’t get a picture of it! My sister-in-law did, so hopefully she’ll send it to me. Madison learned how to bait her own hooks, which really impressed me. Kristen and Tyler also enjoyed fishing. Every year they learn a little more and are more independent, which makes it so much easier on us parents! It was so nice to spend some time with my husband’s family and it also gave the kids some much needed bonding with their grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousin.
This is a picture of the Colorado River, which is what we fished in. There were actually jelly fish floating along the river. I’ve never seen so many jelly fish.
So now I need a vacation from our vacation! Haha! I’ve have a mountain of laundry ahead of me!
We left the coast before the hurricane hit Louisiana. The people who lived along the coast were not taking many chances, as it was Saturday and they began boarding up their windows and filling their cars up with gas. We went ahead and did the same, since there was such uncertainty as to where Gustav would hit. The first gas station we went to was actually out of gas, something that we’re not accustomed to.
On our drive home, we saw an ambulance convoy headed south, as well as electrical/bucket trucks. It reminded me of how many brave men and women we have in our country that are willing to help others who are in need. Yep…warm fuzzies!
