Star Wars in New York

Tomorrow is a big day for my 10 year old son.  The new Star Wars movie is released!  He has been anxiously awaiting this event for a long time.  In fact the last few days we have been “preparing” for the BIG event by having a Star Wars movie marathon complete with light saber battles in the living room.

While we were in New York, we got to see Star Wars characters up close.  The Toys R Us in Times Square was having a special promotion for the new Star Wars the Clone Wars toys.  There were at least a dozen people dressed up as the characters from the movie walking around Times Square.   Some of the Storm Troops kept trying to call a taxis.  However I don’t think the taxis drivers thought it was too funny.  Later that night we waited in line with at least 100 other people for the store to reopen at midnight to get a chance to see the new toys.  We bought our son a new limited edition Lego set- the Separatist Spider Droid.  Now he can’t wait to see it in the new movie.  My hubby and I felt like parents of the year!!

    Space Center Houston has a Clone Wars exhibit going on right now - my DH just got back tonight from taking our 9 year old over there…it was a smallish exhibit but “really outstanding” according to the boys!
