It’s A Girl Thing

My DD is going into her 3rd year as a brownie. I’m her troop leader and try to lead the girls in a direction of creativity and fun. I certainly don’t want their memories as a girl scout to be boring. We made super cute sit-upons that are a bit more modern than the plastic tablecloth and our swap hats have bling on them!

This fall, the girls will have their own notebooks to bring to each meeting. Hot pink binders, of course! I purchased 5 subject dividers to go in their notebooks, though I haven’t decided what each section will be. One will definitely be “communications”, which is where notes will be sent to the parents….to help those parents out who need their hands held and can’t properly read emails. Yep, there’s a hint of sarcasm and frustration there.

In the process of making each binder, I recalled some brownie clip art I found online. Check this site out. They have long hair, short hair, brown hair, blond hair, as well as different skin tones. I printed out the picture which best matched each girl, typed in her name and our troop # (which I covered prior to posting here) and then put a membership star for the number of years she’s completed.

  1. What a CUTE idea! My middle girl just finished her first year of Daisies. I wish our troop leader was as organized as you seem to be.
