Glass Shower Cleaner

Four years ago when we moved into our beautiful new home, I was so proud of my gleaming glass shower! Today I hate it! I’ve tried every product on the shelves at the grocery store and lately I’ve been trying “green” products. Well the glass shower walls are still covered with water spots!

So today I tried an “old timey” solution.

1/2 cup vinegar

1 cup ammonia

1/4 cup baking soda

1 gallon hot water

Mix together in bucket. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from the ammonia. At first I used a soft cloth, then I switched to a medium bristle brush. I really like the results! The spots are almost completely gone. And I think that if I had put a little more elbow grease into it, they would be completely gone.

I read somewhere online (I wish I remember where, I’ll try to look it up) to use Rain-X on glass shower walls. So I’m going to try that next. I’ll let you know how that works out.

  1. We have frosted glass - it is just about as bad! I’m going to have to try the vinegar/ammonia/baking soda method!
