Saving Money at the Grocery Store
This week Teal, Jami, and I met with a neighbor to talk about saving money at the grocery store. She encouraged us to read the grocery store sale ads. Write down everything from that ad that I would use. Then match my coupons to those items. So I did that and saved over $70 at Kroger and $60 at Albertson’s. Plus I spent enough at Albertson’s to receive a coupon for .50 off a gallon of gas up to 30 gallons. I am so excited!!
It did take a little bit of time and effort. I spent about 30 minutes yesterday really going over the ads and about 20 minutes this morning matching my coupons to the items on sale. One thing I didn’t do that I should have is write down my items from the ads in categories, for instance dairy, produce, etc…
Our neighbor also suggested that we make our menus from the grocery ads. That way were not buying extra items and we’re using what we do buy. Sometimes I have the best intentions of using something that I bought on sale and forgetting that I have it and letting it go bad!
I’m going to really try to save money at the grocery store this summer. Wish me luck!
