Baby Shower Cupcakes

Yesterday my daughter’s class had a surprise baby shower for their teacher. The kids did a great job of keeping it a secret for nearly two weeks!! The teacher had no idea, she thought they were going into a room to work on their insect projects. It was really fun seeing all the kids, even the boys, ooh and awe over cute little baby boy clothes.

I made two dozen chocolate cupcakes iced with white and blue frosting. I wanted to try something new, so I drew rattles on top with the icing. They turned out pretty cute. I used canned butter cream frosting for the tops and the Wilton decorator icing for the rattles, squiggly lines, and polka dots. I used a number 3 decorating tip for everything in blue and a #5 to fill in the rattle with white.

They must have been tasty, I didn’t bring any home!
