Grocery Savings

Since we have a large family, getting the most for our money at the grocery store is important to us. Every Saturday, I pick up the early edition of the Sunday paper to clip the coupons. I usually grab the double issue. Then every Sunday morning, I head over to www.thegrocerygame.com to pull up the list and find the best deals at the local grocery stores, when you combine the store sale and a coupon, you can save a lot. I’m lucky because my husband actually likes to do the grocery shopping, so we have a good system down. I create the list and get the coupons ready and he hits the store, usually late at night when they’re not busy. We’ll be getting Softsoap liquid handsoap free this week from Kroger and Herbal Essences shampoo & conditioner for $1 each…that stuff smells so good. We’ll be able to get the Gatorade Tiger 8 pack for only $2.99, saving $4 at Tom Thumb. Yipee! In my book, that’s a good deal. Some weeks the deals are better than others, but it’s worth it to me. Money saved on food is money that can be spent on other stuff!
